What this site collects, and what happens to it.

This site is run by Tim Deeson, the author of Don’t Raise Yet, who is the data controller for anything collected here. The short version: the site collects your email address only if you ask for the free sample chapter, it is never sold or shared beyond the services named below, and every email includes a one-click unsubscribe.

Your email address

When you enter your email in the sample-chapter form, it is used to send you the chapter and the occasional readers’ email described next to the form: patterns and case studies from the founders I coach, advise, and back, sent when there is something worth your time. The legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the form. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email, and your address is deleted from the active list when you do. Nothing else on the site asks for personal data.

The services that process it

The email list is managed by Beehiiv (a US-based email platform), which stores addresses and sends the emails on my behalf. The site is hosted by Vercel, whose infrastructure keeps standard, short-lived server logs. Analytics are provided by Plausible, a privacy-first service hosted in the EU: it sets no cookies, collects no personal data, and reports only aggregate counts such as page views and signups.

Cookies

The site sets no tracking cookies and shows no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. Analytics are cookieless.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the data held about you (it will be your email address), ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to it being used. The fastest route for any of these is to reply to any email from the list, or message me on LinkedIn. If you are not happy with how a request is handled, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
